Topo Maps App Reviews

Ive been using this app since 2009, and it has consistently been my go-to for reference maps of areas that I hike and/or fly fish in. Its been with me thru Colorado, Arizona, and now Arkansas. The ease of use and general features of the app are perfect for me when Im the back country, especially since you can download the area youre in before you go and not worry about cell signal- only battery life.

Never crashes. Downloads maps well. Stitches maps together seamlessly for the most part. GPS finds my exact location on the map even when I have no cell signal (since it uses GPS which is not reliant on cell signals). When Im in the backcountry I switch my phone to airplane mode and still pick up GPS. Ive used this across the west and into Alaska on some interesting trips and it has helped me out many times to find exactly where I am and where I need to go. I use it on my iPhone and iPad. Used it for years and the value is superb considering all the many maps Ive gotten for free from the app.

This is a great app but I cant download maps on my iphone6s. Is their anyway you can add a goto feature to a find a way point.

I cant highlight boxes I have 0 option that shows i should have. All it allows is to take me to other maps on my phone. Ive waisted 7.99$.

Was a great app. Down loaded it four years ago. I just got a new iPhone 6S and now I cant download a single map onto the phone. HELP!!!

This used to be one of my favorite apps. However, it doesnt work with the iPhone 6s. The maps will not download, so the app is useless at this point. This was a previous five star app in my opinion. Please fix this!

Recently updated to an iPhone 6s and topo maps no longer works. I deleted the app hoping that re downloading would restore its glory but unfortunately it didnt work and deleted my waypoints and saved topo maps. What used to be a great navigational all for the back country doesnt seem to work with the new iOS. Bummed!

This has been my go-to app for years for hiking and backpacking. There is a known issue for 6s users as documented on the authors web site. The problem is touching on a grid square to prompt for downloading a map does not work with 3D touch. If you encounter this issue, goto Settings->General->Accessibility->3D Touch and toggle to Off. Now the app behaves as before and you can download new topo maps by touching the grid. When finished, toggle 3D touch back on. Happy hiking!

I greatly enjoy using this app. I can download map sections for offline use. I love that with a tap of a button, the map points in the direction Im facing. Im sure there could be some UI improvements but Im not sure how Id do it better. I do wish there were a greater variety of icons to use as pinned locations, but thats no big deal.

So far, well worth the money. Great maps and easy to use. Ive been looking for software to use like this for awhile now and Im glad I found this. A+

This is honestly one of my favorite apps and rightly earns a place on my home screen. Its truly indispensable. I cycled over 1,000 miles around Washington state and 1,500 miles down the Pacific coast back in 2009 and the app helped guide me every step of the way. With my solar charger, theres almost nothing I cant do with this app, and features are constantly being updated as well. Definitely worth the money.

Totally worth the money.

This app I amazing. Works without service. Its never been wrong. You should make an Apple Watch version to go with this too for quick compass work, triangulation, and for just a quick look at how far youve gone and have left to go.

Just great it works in offline you can set waypoints it shows where there are mines just amazing.
