Topo Maps App Reviews

I just bought this app and uploaded a gpx file into it. I can see that the file is in the app with all my waypoints and tracks. But for some reason I cant see the waypoints and tracks on the map. I see no button that indicates how to do so. Nothing. I hate this app and wish I hadnt wasted my money. Total garbage as far as I can tell. I did download GPS Tracks and it works beautifully.

This is a wonderful app. Allows to download USGS maps for offline use.

Need a refund!!

It would be good to get more features such as "bread crumbs", importing routes and the like. I also had an issue with downloading maps after getting an error due to spotty cell coverage. That did not allow me to download maps even when I had good coverage or wifi afterwords. Still does not work after deleting and reinstalling app :(.

While this has some nice features, I was very disappointed to learn that it does not support tracking. And the very first screenshot of the app in the appstore shows a map with a TRACK on it!!!! Thats very misleading and I want a refund!!!!! From what i can tell, this app has been out for a long time, and the manual says "tracking features are coming soon..." Where are they? The developer hasnt provided an update in almost a year. Even free map apps provide tracking!!

I have owned this app since its launch and can honestly say it is my favorite app period. I am an avid backpacker and hiker and this app has allowed me to find some of the most amazing places in the wild. Maps must be downloaded while you an internet connection, but the gps usually works while out of service so you can locate your position on the topo. I love the ability to link maps together and zoom way in for detail. The map quality is identical to paper topos. I used this app while hiking the John Muir trail and it was great for checking my location and finding off trail lakes and campsites. The search feature works really well so you can find the map you need quickly, download and head out for your adventure. Cant believe this app isnt more popular as it is awesome.

I have had this app 4-5the years now and use it all the time while on the Jeep trails and hiking. This is by far the best GPS

Definietely worth the $8. An amazingly helpful app. Some complain that the maps themselves are older, I think its a good thing. Shows features that are no longer shown on modern maps. Im very glad I purchased.

This app is very simple and extremely useful. Easy offline access to topo maps as long as you remember to grab the ones you need before you leave cell coverage. UI could be a little slicker, but the simplicity makes up for it.

I use this app constantly and its amazing! I work in the field doing creek surveys and love how well its location function works even when I have "no service" on my iphone. I can drop pins where Ive done a survey or where theres good creek access during reconn. Thanks for such a useful app!

Great app if you are an outdoor enthusiast. I used this app consistent as a GPS and map for my through hike of the john Muir trail. Maps have to be downloaded while you have an Internet connection but the GPS on my phone worked well in areas that I had no cell service. This app has gotten me out of a few situations where I was on the wrong trail. I have also found many great off trail hidden gems while backpacking. Love the app.

Believe it or not, this is my very first app review despite being a long time iPhone user. This app is so useful I felt I had to leave a comment. I am a local hiker and weekend car camper who always likes to "see" the lay of the land using USGS Quads. I love the resolution and feel of the "old" paper topo maps and this app captures it perfectly. Not only can you view the quads, you can view them in different orientations, set and store waypoints, adjust the relief appearance, see radius scales, and more. This app is a dream in the field. Im also a geologist, so I use this app on the job too! Awesome app!

Maps for the area I was interested are based on aerial photos taken in 1960, not much use. Would not recommend this app

I use this app all winter when Im hiking in the white mountains with no cell reception. I hike about 160 miles per season in the whites and this app has coverage for most of the trails up there

Ive used this app for a number of years. The map quads are real usgs maps and best of all is the stitching that adjoins the quads into a multi quad view. Im a rock hound and geologist and spend a lot of time in Nevada . You can see yourself while driving along the dirt roads and this feature is priceless for finding overgrown roads that would otherwise blend into the surroundings. The only drawback Ive found is the lack of private property delineation.

Ive had this app for 4+ years. Use it everyday for my profession. Quick download, great in-app tools. Have saved time and money with this app. Highly recommend for Land Surveyors.

Ive used this for years and its easily the best topo app Ive seen. Its great for scouting new property and going deep on public land to get away from everyone else.
